About "The Last Repair Shop": Los Angeles is one of the last American cities to provide free and freely repaired musical instruments to its public schoolchildren, a continuous service since 1959. From Oscar®-nominated directing duo Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers, "The Last Repair Shop" grants an all-access pass to the downtown warehouse where a handful of devoted craftspeople keep over 80,000 student instruments in good repair. This film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film in 2023. Click here to watch the trailer.

I'd like to Contribute: Why Donate?

In the film, you will learn about devoted craftspeople who keep over 80,000 student instruments in good repair. This organization relies on donations and goodwill from the public to keep its mission successful. Your gift will help students in need be successful. Recently, the studio donated $5,000 from the scholarship fund towards the USC tuition for one of the students in the film.
